Video of me

I speak to over 100 companies each year. As you can appreciate it’s not always easy to set up your own video crew at someone else’s event. But from time to time I get a chance to capture some footage of me in action. They’re short clips, and my aim in placing them here is for you to get a small sample of me in action. Hopefully this makes it easier for you to trust that I can deliver what you’re looking for at an event you’re planning. Of course there are other ways to show you me in action, so please feel free to contact me if video just isn’t good enough.

TOMORROWTODAY CLIENT BREAKFAST CLIP 1 (excerpt of the technology piece from the After Shock Presentation)
In April 2010 TomorrowToday hosted a breakfast for some of our clients. Each of the TomorrowToday presenters were given 10 minute slots aimed at giving the audience some thought provoking inputs around the New World of Work (this clip is 9min 41sec).

VODACOM BUSINESS PRESENTATION (clip 01)
I was asked to shoot a 60 minute video as part of the Vodacom Business series. This input was then shown in Movie Theaters across South Africa to business people (this clip is 57 seconds). This video was shot in front of a camera (only) in a studio. It doesn’t give a good feel of me in front of a live audience.

About Barrie

I'm known, used and 'borrowed' for my creativity. Business for me centers around researching the 'new world of work' and then communicating (at conferences large and small) to help my clients better understand and connect with a new kind of worker. I'm also very involved in a communication business, where we're working hard to introduce fresh thinking with regard to comms distribution. In short then, I'd describe myself as a speaker, researcher, consultant, unfocussed but very useful resource in a creative process, strategist, big picture thinker, and social media evangelist who can be relied on to be full of energy and enthusiasm.

I've been researching and exploring the so-called 'War for Talent' for over 5 years. I have an extensive background in people, organisational and community development, and bring a wealth of experience and insight to this critical business focus.

If nothing else, we should have a conversation about how you and I view 'Talent'? I'm happy to pay for coffee. To be honest I'd like to hear about how you see this space? It's fresh, relevant, controversial and challenging. There's lots of conversation to be had.

Communication impacts how we organise, see and speak about ourselves and others. It's a critical driver of social change, and is currently undergoing fundamental shifts at lightening speed.

Driven by 'social media' and an evolving web, from 2.0 to 3.0, this is an exciting space that all organisations must be embracing and exploring.

From it's inception the internet has been about, what we term, 'social media' today. It's been a central business tool in my own world and in the solutions I've worked with clients to develop.
