More About Me
I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and moved to Durban in 1993 after taking up a position at a large Youth Development NGO. My next move was to head up the International Youth Development Centre, a project that specialized in recruiting university students from countries outside of South Africa and placing them in community development projects in and around Durban. Having stepped out of the non-profit NGO world I have worked in a variety of industries and companies. I’m well known for my creative thinking and the bundles of enthusiasm I bring to most environment I work within.
Now back in Jozi, I head up the Talent Development Project at TomorrowToday. TomorrowToday is convinced that discovering, attracting and retaining Bright Young Things is one of the next BIG challenges business is going to have to find solutions for, and that we are ideally positioned to significantly contribute to this global conversation.
I’m also a ‘social software’ activist, and joined a technically skilled and highly experienced team as the ‘creative solution finder’, working with organisations to help them understand this phenomenon, and how it can be used to enhance the environment to create a more authentic conversations between their people.
My creativity has found itʼs way into many organisations and projects. One currently ʻon the boilʼ is a significant contribution to one day cricket in the form of ʻDotBallʼ. It was recently tested in the IPL series played in South Africa, as well as two T20 internationals between South Africa and Australia.
I’m fortunate to be a sought after speaker and have worked with companies and organisations in many countries, including: England, Japan, Singapore, USA (Hawaii), Southern Africa, and I’ve engaged with delegates from many countries throughout Africa.
I’ve been married to Leisha since 1993, and we have 2 beautiful daughters.
